The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari, the mother of Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
Hajiya Safara’u passed away on Saturday at the age of 93.
The statement was released by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General of Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe state.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, who chairs the NSGF, issued a condolence message on behalf of his fellow governors.
He described the late matriarch as a “pillar of the family” and an “upright mother”.

“Hajiya lived a fulfilled life, marked by unwavering devotion to Allah and a strong commitment to serving humanity,” Governor Yahaya stated.
He acknowledged the loss felt by Governor Radda and his family, especially at a time when her “elderly and motherly counsel” was greatly needed.
“While her wisdom will be missed, we must find comfort in the lasting legacy she leaves behind through her children and her exemplary life,” he added.
Governor Yahaya urged Governor Radda and his family to “uphold and carry forward the legacies of integrity and good character” left by their late mother. He extended the condolences of the Gombe State government and its people.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants Hajiya Safara’u Aljannat Firdaus,” Governor Yahaya concluded.
