Northern Youth Condemn Brutal Killing Of 16 Northerners In Edo, Calls For Calm

The Northern Youth Association of Nigeria has expressed deep sadness and strongly condemned the brutal killing of 16 Northern travelers in Uromi, Edo State, during a mob attack last night.

In a statement issued on Friday by the group’s President, Godiya T. Adams Bogoro, the association described the heinous act as unacceptable and called for a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served.

The Northern Youth Association of Nigeria urged the relevant authorities to take immediate action in apprehending the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.

The group also called on the Edo State Government to implement concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The group’s president stated, “We have been assured that the Governor of Edo State is taking the matter very seriously and is committed to getting to the root of the incident.”

Godiya commended the governor’s efforts and appreciated his commitment to justice and peace.

“We would like to put on record that the Governor of Edo State is a man of peace and a great friend of the Arewa people. He has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the well-being and safety of all citizens, regardless of their ethnic or regional background.

“We are confident that he will do everything within his power to ensure that justice is served and that peace is maintained in the state,” the group added.

The association also urged Northerners to remain calm and peaceful despite the provocation, “We urge them not to take the law into their own hands but to allow the relevant authorities to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.”

“We will continue to monitor the situation and work with the relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served.

“We also call on all Nigerians to condemn this heinous act and work together to promote peace, unity, and understanding,” Godiya T. Adams concluded.
