According to a press release from Captain David Adwusi, Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, on Monday, August 11, 2025, the operation followed credible intelligence that a large number of terrorists loyal to the late Halilu Buzu and Alhaji Beti had gathered in the forest.

They were reportedly planning to attack the Adabka and Nasarawan Burkullu farming communities to avenge recent defeats in clashes with security forces.
