The Borno State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old suspect, Hassan Mohammed in Maiduguri, and recovered 153 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
 
This was disclosed by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer for the Borno State Police Command, on January 20, 2024.
 
According to Daso, the arrest was made during a raid operation in the Bulabulin area of Maiduguri on January 17, 2025. 
 
“The Command remains dedicated to nipping in the bud all criminal activities in the state and calls on the members of the public, especially parents/guardians, to be watchful of their children/wards and report any suspicious activities to the police,” said the statement.
 
The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and will be charged to court.
