The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly vandalising and stealing electrical transformer cables in Girei Local Government Area.

This is contained in a statement issued on Monday by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, of the Adamawa police command.

According to the statement, acting on credible intelligence, the police apprehended Rabiu Ali (28), Muhammad Musa (42), and Abubakar Usman (18) on February 6, 2025.

The suspects, along with three others still at large, are accused of vandalising a transformer and stealing its armoured cables.

“I commend DPO Girei and his men for effective policing services,” said Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris.

“He has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the case for discreet investigation and apprehend the fleeing suspects.”

The Commissioner of Police urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around electrical transformers.

“Those arrested would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation,” the statement added.
