Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of a bull in Damaturu, the Yobe State Police Command confirmed on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The operational success was announced by SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Yobe State Command, following a renewed effort against habitual criminals.
The arrests were made after receiving a distress call on Sunday at approximately 8:50 AM reporting a suspected stolen white bull being transported in a tricycle.
The vehicle, a Jega with registration number YAROTA 3517 DRT, was sighted in the Pompomari area.

Detectives swiftly mobilised and apprehended the four suspects: Mallam Adamu Usman, 54; Babayแป Umar, 20; Garba Shaibu, 35; and Babayแป Ali, 54.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Mallam Adamu Usman confessed to buying the stolen bull.
โMallam Adamu Usman confessed to having bought the bull from one Buba and Halilu, knowing fully that the animal was stolen,โ SP Abdulkarim stated.
The bull and the tricycle used in the operation have been recovered and impounded as exhibits. Two suspects, Buba and Halilu, are currently at large, and efforts are being intensified to trace and apprehend them.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, commended the officers for their prompt response and charged the Command to remain focused.
โOfficers and men of the Command must remain vigilant, proactive, and community-orientated in tackling emerging crimes across the state,โ CP Ado said.
The Command is appealing to the public for continued support, urging them to provide timely and credible information to aid in the arrest of criminal elements. Investigation is ongoing.
