Police Foil Robbery in Azare, Arrest 2 Armed Suspects

The Bauchi State Police Command has foiled a robbery attempt in Azare town, Katagum Local Government Area, arresting two suspects and recovering firearms and a stolen motorcycle.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the operation followed a distress call received around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday from one Adamu Abdullahi of the Gandum Wambai area, Azare, who reported that armed thieves invaded his business premises, GKY Food and Oil Mills, and stole a motorcycle.

Police operatives from Azare Division, working with local vigilantes, pursued and apprehended the suspectsโ€”Hassan Babangida (25) and Abdullahi Hussaini (27)โ€”along the Lafiyaโ€“Gwasame road in Lafiya village.

Recovered items include two locally made guns and one Bajaj motorcycle, identified as the stolen property.

โ€œThe Command remains committed to combating criminality and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Bauchi State,โ€ said CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, who commended the swift police response and local support.

The statement added that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the suspectsโ€™ wider criminal network and urged residents to continue sharing timely information with security agencies.
