The Bauchi State Police Command has foiled a robbery attempt in Azare town, Katagum Local Government Area, arresting two suspects and recovering firearms and a stolen motorcycle.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the operation followed a distress call received around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday from one Adamu Abdullahi of the Gandum Wambai area, Azare, who reported that armed thieves invaded his business premises, GKY Food and Oil Mills, and stole a motorcycle.
Police operatives from Azare Division, working with local vigilantes, pursued and apprehended the suspectsโHassan Babangida (25) and Abdullahi Hussaini (27)โalong the LafiyaโGwasame road in Lafiya village.
Recovered items include two locally made guns and one Bajaj motorcycle, identified as the stolen property.
โThe Command remains committed to combating criminality and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Bauchi State,โ said CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, who commended the swift police response and local support.
The statement added that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the suspectsโ wider criminal network and urged residents to continue sharing timely information with security agencies.
