Police Nab 3 Over Sewing Machine Theft in Maiduguri

The Borno State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the theft of sewing machines from the Dala Lawati Skills Acquisition Centre. 

Police Commissioner Yusufu Mohammed Lawal confirmed the arrests in a statement released Wednesday.

The statement, issued by Police Public Relations Officer ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, revealed security guard Kaka Modu Mustapha, 34, allegedly conspired with Bukar Mustapha, 16, and Ibrahim Mohammed, 17, to steal 19 sewing machine heads on March 22nd.

“Upon receiving the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer, Bulumkutu Division, and team promptly launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of the three suspects and recovery of 6 out of the 19 sewing machines stolen,” Daso stated.

He added that investigations are ongoing to recover the remaining stolen items.
