Borno State Police Commissioner Naziru Abdulmajid on Tuesday hosted the newly posted commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Usman Suleiman, in Maiduguri to boost cooperation against drug abuse and trafficking.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the Command’s public relations officer, on Tuesday.
Suleiman said his visit aimed to โfoster synergy and strengthen joint operations against crime and drug abuseโ, describing the menace as a major contributor to insecurity.
Abdulmajid welcomed the NDLEA chief and pledged full police cooperation. โSecurity is a collective responsibility,โ he said.
โDrug abuse has been a major driver of violent crimes, and only through partnership can we effectively tackle it.โ
Both agencies pledged closer intelligence sharing and joint operations to curb drug-related crimes in the state.
