Police Reopen 2023 Adamawa Acid Attack Case, Launch Fresh Investigation

The Adamawa State Police Command has reopened the 2023 acid attack case involving three victims, including Miss Eve Usman Kwala, following renewed public concern.

The announcement was made by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement dated 14 November 2025.

Nguroje said the initial investigation made no arrests, prompting the Command to act on โ€œemotional appeals and rising public interest.โ€

He explained that Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a full reassessment of the case file.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation) to gather new evidence and trace all persons linked to the incident.

According to the statement, โ€œthe Command is committed to unmasking the perpetrators and ensuring diligent prosecution.โ€

Police urged members of the public with credible information to come forward, assuring that all details would be handled confidentially.

Nguroje added that the Command remains focused on justice and will not allow โ€œcriminal acts of this nature to be swept aside.โ€
