The state government issued a notification on Tuesday, informing the public of the disruption and appealing for patience while the necessary work is carried out.
According to the statement released by the Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Internal Security Professor Usman Tar, the outage is expected to be “for a short duration”.

Addressing residents directly, the government urged them to play an active role in safeguarding public utilities during this period.
“Members of the public are called upon to exercise patience while the maintenance is completed and power is fully restored,” the statement read.
adding a further call to “ensure that public electricity assets around their communities such as transformers, poles and cables are safeguarded from vandals and miscreants who may take advantage of the temporary outage to trespass into these assets.”
In addition to security measures, the government also advised households to take precautions with their electrical appliances. “Ensure that domestic appliances are switched-off to ensure that they are safeguarded from possible surge or sparks during the maintenance protocols,” the notification stated.
The Borno State Government conveyed its appreciation to the affected communities for their understanding and cooperation as engineers work to complete the maintenance and restore power supply.
