Protest: Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed Calls for Peace and Unity

Bauchi State Governor, Abdulkadir Bala Mohammed, has appealed to citizens of the state and Nigeria as a whole to put aside their differences and work towards fostering peace and unity.

The Governor made this call during a recent visit to Azare in Katagum Local Government Area, where he assessed the impact of the #EndBadGovernance protest.

While addressing the residents, he assured them that his administration is committed to implementing a comprehensive plan to restore and reinvigorate Azare.

The plan includes the construction of additional roads, the renovation of public buildings, and the establishment of empowerment programs specifically for youth and women.

The Governor commended the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farooq II, for his contributions to the development of the state, promotion of peace, and support for his administration.

He also urged community leaders to intensify their efforts in promoting unity and peace and sympathised with bereaved families, emphasising that his administration will continue to prioritise the protection of the populace.

During the visit, the governor paid homage to the Emir of Katagum and later explored the city to assess the level of damage.

In response, the Emir commended the Governor for his concern and assured him of the unwavering support of traditional institutions.
