The Borno State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew across the state, effective immediately, in response to the recent deadly explosion in Kawori that claimed 16 lives and left several others critically injured.
The decision, announced by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, was made in consultation with security heads and is aimed at restoring law and order in the state.
The curfew comes after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated at a local tea joint in Kawuri, Konduga, resulting in significant loss of life and injury.
Governor Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum, in consultation with security heads, deemed the curfew necessary to ensure public safety and prevent further incidents.
Citizens are urged to remain calm and law-abiding during this time. Further updates and developments will be communicated to the public accordingly.
