Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has appointed Alhaji Lawal Ahmed Rufa’i Safana as his special adviser on the Katsina State Local Government Inspectorate.
The appointment was announced in a press release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, on April 15, 2025.
The appointment, effective immediately, falls under the purview of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
This strategic appointment is aimed at bolstering the implementation of the recently granted local government autonomy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the state.
Governor Radda stated that Rufa’i’s selection was based on his “proven track record of excellence and outstanding service to Katsina State, especially in local government administration, where he has demonstrated exceptional competence and integrity.”

In this newly created role, Alhaji Rufa’i Safana will be responsible for overseeing the efficient allocation of resources across the state’s 34 local government areas.
His mandate includes ensuring transparency and accountability in line with Governor Radda’s ‘Building Your Future’ agenda and the administration’s commitment to responsible governance.
Governor Radda congratulated the new special adviser and charged him to “bring his wealth of experience to bear in this new role through diligent monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes.”
