President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and improving the welfare of its personnel.
He made this promise during the passing-out parade and commissioning of the Regular Officers Course 6 at the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu listed measures being taken to equip the police force, including the acquisition of new vehicles, communication equipment, and forensic tools.
He emphasised the importance of modern technology and community policing in combating crime.
The president also acknowledged the need to address the shortage of police personnel and announced a recruitment drive across the nation.
He commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, and the leadership of the NPF for their professionalism and dedication.
In his address, the Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, AIG Sadiq I. Abubakar, reiterated the academy’s determination to produce ideal superior police officers equipped to face the challenges of policing in Nigeria.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf Kabir, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Arch. Ahmed Dangiwa, and Inspector General of Police Mr. Kayode Egbetokun.
