A delegation from the House of Representatives, led by Rt Hon. Idris Wase, visited Plateau State to express condolences for recent attacks and present a substantial donation.

The delegation, acting on behalf of Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, presented N100 million to support affected communities.

Governor Caleb Muftwang received the delegation and expressed his gratitude for the gesture. “I received with deep gratitude a delegation from the House of Representatives. They were in Plateau to commiserate with us over the recent attacks and to present a N100 million donation,” the governor stated.

The donation included N50 million allocated to the Plateau State government and the remaining N50 million distributed among the Bassa, Bokkos, and Riyom Local Government Areas, each severely impacted by the violence.

Governor Muftwang praised the House of Representatives for their support. “I commend the unity and compassion of the Plateau caucus and the House at large. Their gesture is timely and deeply appreciated,” he said.

During the visit, Governor Muftwang also addressed other critical issues facing the state. He highlighted the “urgent need for improved rural roads and communication infrastructure” to enhance security responses in vulnerable areas.

Additionally, he briefed the delegation on the recent fire incident at Terminus Market, stating, “We are working swiftly to support those affected.”

Despite the challenges, Governor Muftwang remained optimistic about the resilience of the people of Plateau State. “The resilience of Plateau people remains our greatest strength. We will riseโ€”together,” he affirmed.
