The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Police Command, is investigating the death of retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, who was found deceased in a hotel room in Abuja.
The police have refuted earlier reports of a kidnapping, clarifying that he checked into the hotel voluntarily.
According to a press release issued on March 4, 2025, by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel on March 3, 2025, and checked in for an overnight stay.
“Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel around 12:00 PM and paid for a night’s stay,” SP Adeh stated.
“He then directed the hotel room attendant to escort a female guest to his room, who left the hotel around 4:00 PM.”
Parradang was later found deceased in his room around 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, by a concerned military officer friend and hotel staff.
“Upon arrival, they found Mr. Parradang deceased, seated in a chair,” SP Adeh confirmed.
The Durumi Police Station was notified, and officers secured the scene, collected evidence, and transferred the body to the National Hospital.
“Hotel staff are cooperating with our investigations,” SP Adeh said. “Efforts are underway to apprehend the female guest.”
The police urged the public and media to avoid spreading unverified information, including claims of kidnapping.
“We urge the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that may incite fear or panic,” SP Adeh emphasised.
“The FCT Police Command is committed to a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradang’s death.”
