The Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al Amin El-Kanemi, married off four of his daughters on Saturday, in a grand and historic ceremony.
 
The ceremony was attended by Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima; Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum; and former Governor and Galadima of Dikwa, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff (SAS).
 
Also in attendance were business tycoon Alhaji Mohammed Indimi and NNPC General Manager Mele Kyari. The Emirs of Dikwa, Bama, Lafiya, Nasarawa, and Niger were also present, along with numerous politicians, civil servants, businessmen, relatives, well-wishers, friends, thousands of residents.
 
The four daughters were married to their grooms which included:

1. Nana Hadiza Shehu Abubakar (Yadoma) to Shehu Tijjani
2. Nana Bintu Shehu Abubakar to Sani Abbas
3. Nana Halima Shehu Abubakar to Babagana Ajimi
4. Fatima Ibrahim Muktar to Ibrahim
 
Other notable attendees included National Assembly members, traditional rulers, party stalwarts, and many others. 
 
The ceremony served as an opportunity to promote peaceful coexistence in the country, with leaders and guests emphasising the importance of unity and harmony.
 
The wedding ceremony was a colourful event in Borno State, marking a joyous occasion for the Shehu’s family and the state at large. 
 
It also showcased the rich cultural heritage of the state, with traditional festivities and celebrations taking place throughout the day.
