The Super Eagles will receive $50,000 for every goal scored in their 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff match against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday night.
The incentive, introduced by the National Sports Commission (NSC) in partnership with unnamed corporate sponsors, aims to boost player morale ahead of the decisive clash.
An NSC official said the support was designed to โmotivate the team at a critical stage.โ
The Eagles previously earned $120,000 after their 4โ1 win over Gabon last Thursday, receiving $30,000 per goal in that match.
Officials described the new bonus as โa reflection of confidence in the teamโs ability to deliver.โ
The winner of Sunday night’s match will advance to the Intercontinental playoffs scheduled for March 2026 in Mexico.
