Tanker Explosion: House of Reps Delivers N100 Million Promised to Niger Gov’t 

The House of Representatives has fulfilled its pledge of N100 million to support victims of the Dikko Junction tanker explosion in Niger State.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas presented ten cheques of N10 million each to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago at the Niger State liaison office in Abuja on Wednesday .

Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, March 12, 2025.

Speaker Abbas explained that the donation was in fulfilment of a promise made during the House’s condolence visit to Niger State following the tragic fire disaster.

“This donation may not be sufficient, but it’s a representation of our love and concern for the people in agony,” he stated.

He further emphasised the House of Representatives’ commitment to supporting the Niger State government and Governor Bago in bringing relief to the affected communities.

“The House of Representatives will continue to identify with the state government and the governor, particularly in bringing succour to the people,” Abbas affirmed.

Responding after receiving the donation, Governor Bago expressed his gratitude on behalf of the government of Niger State and beneficiaries of the fund.

“This donation is a demonstration of love, commitment, and empathy to the government and people of the state, particularly the victims of the disaster,” expressed Governor Bago.

He also assured that the funds would be distributed to the families of the victims through the Niger State Disaster Management Fund.
