The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, presided over the Passing Out Parade of the newly established Taraba Marshall Security Guards at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Jalingo on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The creation of the force is part of the state’s renewed effort to create a safer environment vital for societal development and attracting investors.
Addressing the new Guards, Governor Kefas charged them to be integral to the stateโs revamped security architecture. He stated that security of lives and property remains a “vital concern” for his administration.
The Governor outlined the primary duties of the new outfit: “I urged them to protect communities, secure farmlands, support the police and military, and serve as frontline intelligence in their respective wards.”
Governor Kefas warned the recruits against compromise or misconduct, emphasising that their responsibilities demand high standards.
He stressed that “fear, compromise, and misconduct would not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
The new security force is expected to bolster efforts by federal agencies and secure communities across the state.
