Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has established a high-powered Technical Committee to oversee the creation of a new specialized institution: the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology and Climate Action in Gembu.
The initiative aims to significantly boost higher education and create new opportunities focused on agriculture, technology, and climate innovation within the state.
The committee, composed of seasoned academics and key ministry representatives, is chaired by Prof. Mahmood H. Umar and includes a total of eight professors.
Other members include Prof. Aliyara, Prof. Jeffrey T. Barminas, Prof. Sunday T. Ngarka, Prof. Ali Jafaru, Prof. Saidu Adamu, Prof. Elkanah Obadiah, Prof. Oliver James Nzalack, and representatives from the Ministries of Justice, Finance, Agriculture, and Tertiary Education. Alh. Idris Goje serves as the Member/Secretary.
The newly formed team has been directed to commence work immediately to fast-track the establishment of the university.
