The Nigerian Army’s Theatre Command has significantly enhanced its training capabilities with the commissioning of a new state-of-the-art training school building and the renovation of existing facilities at the Maimalari Cantonment.
The event, held on Saturday, was presided over by Major General Waidi Shuaibu, the Theatre Commander.
In his address, General Shuaibu underscored the importance of the new facility in bolstering the Army’s capacity to effectively address security challenges, particularly in the Northeast region.

He described the school as a concrete manifestation of the Army’s commitment to transforming into a highly proficient force capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties.
The theatre commander expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for his support in making the project a reality.
He also commended the officers, engineers, and staff involved in the planning and execution of the project. General Shuaibu emphasised the need for proper maintenance of the facility to ensure its optimal utilisation by future generations of soldiers.
Addressing the graduating trainees, General Shuaibu commended their dedication and hard work. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their training to their respective roles in safeguarding the nation.

The theatre commander expressed confidence that the trainees would contribute significantly to ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the Northeast.
The commissioning of the new training school is expected to have a far-reaching impact on the Nigerian Army’s operations in the region, providing soldiers with the necessary skills and expertise to combat emerging threats.
