Tinubu, Kebbi Governor Meet on Security, Development Initiatives

Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, where they discussed the state’s ongoing security challenges and key development initiatives.

In a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, the same day, Governor Idris expressed his profound gratitude to the President for the swift federal intervention that secured the release of 24 schoolgirls abducted just last week.

During the high-level meeting, the governor provided a comprehensive update on the security situation across affected parts of Kebbi State.

“We are deeply thankful to the President for the quick and effective response that ensured the safe return of the 24 schoolgirls from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga,” the statement quotes Dr Idris.

Dr Idris also outlined specific measures currently being implemented to safeguard residents.

The discussions centred on proactive strategies and enhanced federal collaboration to tackle insecurity, including improved intelligence sharing and coordinated operations.

The Governor further highlighted his administration’s priority development projects.

These key initiatives focus on agriculture, education, and healthcare, designed to drive sustainable growth across Kebbi State.

President Tinubu reportedly commended Governor Idris for his proactive leadership on security matters. He further pledged continued federal support to accelerate development efforts in the state.

Governor Idris was accompanied to the meeting by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
