In a significant victory against terrorism, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralized dozens of terrorists, including key kingpins, in Zamfara and Sokoto States between February 1 and 10, 2025.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, the operation has “enhanced the safety and security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area”.

The troops successfully eliminated notorious terrorist leaders, including Kachalla Na Faransa, Dogon Bakkwalo, Auta Gobaje, and Dan Mai Dutsi, in fierce battles in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, as well as Isa LGA of Sokoto State.

In addition to neutralizing key figures, the troops destroyed over 40 terrorist hideouts, including important locations such as Tungar Fulani, Unguwar Goga, Gangara Hill, and Gidan Maji.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi assured citizens that their contributions to the operation will be treated with “utmost confidentiality and respect.”

He also encouraged the public to provide information on fleeing terrorists, including Bello Turji and his henchmen.

The successful operation has significantly weakened the terrorists’ operational capacity, disrupting their logistical and operational capabilities in the North West region.
