Troops from 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have conducted successful operations in Plateau and Kaduna states, neutralising kidnappers, apprehending gunrunners, and recovering arms and ammunition.
This was disclosed in a statement by Major Samson Nantip Zahakom, Media Information Officer Operation SAFE HAVEN 13 March 2025.
According to the statement, the operations, part of the ongoing Operation LAFIYAN JAMAโA, took place on March 11th and 12th, 2025.
On March 12th, troops conducted offensive operations near Kuru and Turu in Jos South LGA, Plateau State, encountering and neutralising two kidnappers/terrorists.

“During the operation, troops made contact with kidnappers/terrorists close to the high grounds in Kuru and neutralised 2 of the criminals who were in possession of 18 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) and 9 rounds of 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition,” stated Major Zhakom.
Also on March 12th, troops conducting snap checkpoints along the Bokkos-Bot-Mangu road in Bokkos LGA, Plateau State, intercepted a notorious gunrunner, Mr. Sengi David, 21.
“The operation followed credible intelligence on the movement of arms and ammunition along the area,” Major Zhakom explained.
“Troops intercepted Mr. Sengi David, who hails from Kopal Village in Panyam District, in possession of one AK-47 magazine and 48 rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition.”
In a separate sting operation on March 11th, troops arrested Mr. Blessed Paul, 22, a notorious kidnapper, terrorist, and gunrunner, in Garaje Community, Jema’a LGA, Kaduna State.
“The suspect, who had been on the wanted list of security agencies, was lured with the promise of purchasing one AK-47 rifle for N1,500,000.00,” Major Zhakom said.
“A search on the suspect led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, and 2 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special).”
On March 12th, troops conducted a rescue operation near Josho Village, Daffo District, Bokkos LGA, Plateau State, rescuing two kidnapped females, Miss Nanbam Adamu, 11, and Miss Dorcas Wantu.
“During the operation, the kidnappers abandoned their victims and fled upon sighting troops,” Major Zhakom stated.
“The rescued victims have been debriefed and handed over to their families. Troops are currently conducting follow-up operations to intercept and neutralise the fleeing kidnappers.”
“Troops of 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN will remain resolute in the discharge of their duties,” Major Zhakom affirmed.
“We advise the general public to continually provide useful and credible information to aid the operations of troops.”
