The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has emphasized the importance of defending Nigeria’s democratic institutions, values, and principles.

He stated that it is the constitutional responsibility of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and sister services to protect and strengthen them.

Air Marshal Abubakar commended Governor Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya for his achievements in Gombe State, particularly in infrastructural development, healthcare, and education. He also acknowledged the state’s top ranking in ease of doing business in Nigeria.

The CAS discussed the recent protest in Gombe State, which was hijacked by unscrupulous elements, leading to the deployment of NAF aircraft for reconnaissance and Regiment Forces to quell the unrest.

Governor Yahaya expressed appreciation for the NAF’s efforts in addressing security challenges, ensuring citizens’ safety, and commended the 109 Combat Reconnaissance Group for their swift response in quelling recent cases of looting and theft.

The Governor assured the CAS of his government’s commitment to providing infrastructure to support the 109 CRG’s effective functioning.
