The Executive Secretary Yobe State Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr. Babagana Kundi Machina today 22, May, 2024 Declared open a two days training of Trainers on the introduction of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine into Routine Immunization for the 17 Local Government Areas of the State.

The ES has while declaring the training open at the Desert Hall Damaturu said the measure was meant to equip the participants with the required knowledge on the usage and efficacy of the vaccine.

Dr Kundi said the introduction of the vaccine into routine immunization will help in reducing the effects of cervical cancer especially among female across the state.

He charged the participants to pay rapt attention during the session for better results.

The Director Immunization and Disease Control of the agency, Dr Umar chroma has in a welcome address described the training as not only important but key in the successful implementation of the exercise.

Also, PM SERICC Muhammad Danjuma while highlighting the objectives of the training said it was meant to update participant’s knowledge on demand generation for HPV Vaccine uptake, HPVV AEFI surveillance and management, planning for Multi Age Cohort campaign (MAC) in the first week of HPVV introduction and to review state specific plans on HPVV introduction.

Representatives of Donors and Partners such as WHO, UNICEF among others presented goodwill message while Dahiru and Dan Azare dwelt on Pre test.
