Yobe: Buni Eases Curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru Towns

Following an improvement in the security situation, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni on Saturday eased the curfew imposed on Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru Towns.

In a statement on Sunday, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Retd.), announced that the curfew will now be from 5:00 PM to 12:00 midnight daily, effective immediately, August 4, 2024.

This represents a five-hour relaxation of the previous curfew.

While urging residents to take advantage of the extended period to carry out lawful activities, the government has also warned that security agencies will remain on high alert to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The public is advised to adhere to the new curfew hours.
