Yobe Police Rescue Kidnapped Victim, Arrest Suspect

The Yobe State Police Command has announced the arrest of a kidnapping suspect and the rescue of a kidnapped victim.
 
According to a press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Yusuf Ali from the 250 Housing Estate in Damaturu, was apprehended on October 18, 2024.
 
The victim, Abdullahi Hassan, had been reported missing on October 13, 2024. 
 
His family received a ransom demand of N1.5 million from the kidnapper.
 
Acting on intelligence, the State Intelligent Department (SID) tracked the victim to a secure location in Kara Area, Darazo, Bauchi State. 
 
The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the victim was rescued unharmed.
 
The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, commended the police officers involved in the operation for their swift response and dedication. 
 
He also urged parents and guardians to take necessary precautions to protect their children from kidnapping and other criminal activities.
 
In the statement, the police advised parents to educate their children about basic safety protocols, avoid walking alone, stay in well-lit areas, and never accept gifts or rides from strangers. 
 
The police also encouraged parents to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the authorities.
