The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has continued its periodic support to correctional centres and remand homes in the state, with a recent visit to the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Potiskum.
Led by Abdul Atiyaye, the Yobe SEMA team delivered food and non-food items to complement existing efforts by the Federal Government.
The support is part of the state government’s initiative to provide utility and logistics support to correctional centres through relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The head of the custodial centre received the items and expressed appreciation for the state government’s efforts in supporting their needs and complementing existing resources.
This support is in line with Governor Bundi’s directive for Yobe SEMA to periodically reach out to government correctional centres with food and non-food items, in addition to ongoing support through the prerogative of mercy.
