The Association of Regions in Morocco has invited the Yobe State Government to showcase its sesame seeds and gum arabic at an upcoming international trade fair in Meknes.

This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Mamman Mohammed, DG Press and Media Affairs, to the Governor.

Mohammed El Bachiri, Executive Director of the association, stated that they are eager to collaborate with the Yobe State Government to attract investors and marketers to the state.

“Under the collaboration program, there are rooms for financing agriculture, the environment, climate, and housing in the local government areas,” El Bachiri said.

The Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Baba Malam Wali, expressed the state’s willingness to participate.

“We have high-quality graded sesame seeds, gum arabic, beans, and groundnut in commercial quantities across all local government areas,” Wali said.

“Governor Mai Mala Buni has directed us to collaborate with reputable agencies and organisations to attract employment and wealth creation opportunities for our youth.”

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Mustapha Goniri, highlighted the state’s production of high-quality sesame seeds, noting the establishment of four processing plants to enhance quality.

“The international trade fair would give our state the opportunity to showcase the quality of our farm produce to the world,” Goniri said.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ibrahim Adamu Jajere, confirmed the readiness of all 17 local government councils to participate in the trade fair.

Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, CEO of the consulting firm African Network Centre, assured the completion of necessary documentation for participation.
