The 2025 Babagana Kalli Ozogola FA Cup is scheduled to kick off on November 5, 2025, following a strategic planning meeting organised by the Borno State Club Owners’ Association (BOSFCOA) at the Football Association (FA) office inside the El-Kanemi Warriors Sports Centre, Maiduguri.
The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of Mohammed Wakil School, brought together key football stakeholders, including the Borno State FA Chairman, Babagana Kalli Ozogola, and executives of BOSFCOA.
In his remarks, Ozogola commended the organisers for sustaining the competition, pledging continued support for grassroots football development in Borno and across the Northeast.
As part of his support, he donated ₦5,000 to each participating team, ₦5,000 to every BOSFCOA executive, and ₦100,000 to the tournament’s organising committee.
The FA Chairman urged match officials to ensure fair and transparent officiating, describing the event as a “friendly and peace-building tournament” designed to foster unity and sportsmanship among local clubs.
The annual competition, named in honour of Ozogola, has become a major platform for discovering and nurturing football talents from across Borno State.
