Book Launch: Donates N50 Million, Reaffirms Commitment to Education

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to investing in education, describing it as the foundation for a prosperous and peaceful future.

The governor made the pledge during the graduation ceremony and book launch of “Echoes of Memory,” authored by Aisha Umar Kadafur, daughter of the state’s Deputy Governor, held in Maiduguri.

Aisha, a law graduate from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, is an advocate for peace and girl-child education. Her 25-page book features poems touching on themes such as morality, technology, mental health, and the girl-child.

Commending the young author, Zulum said education remains the “most powerful weapon to transform individuals and society,” praising Aisha’s literary effort as a reflection of the power of youth creativity.

“Today, we gather not just to celebrate an academic milestone but to honour a young lady whose passion for learning and writing has produced a meaningful contribution to literature and personal development,” Zulum stated.

He assured that his government would continue to prioritize educational development. “We will, Insha Allah, deliver to the good people of Borno State both concrete and quantum values,” the governor said.

Speaking further, Zulum described the book as “a voice of reflection, courage, and inspiration,” noting that Aisha’s success symbolises the impact of the state’s investment in human capital.

The governor also highlighted his strong working relationship with Deputy Governor Umar Kadafur, describing it as exemplary.

“Looking at the relationship between myself and the deputy, I said I must be around. I felt that in my absence there would be a missing link — I am the father of Aisha,” he said.

In a show of support, Zulum launched copies of “Echoes of Memory” with a ₦50 million donation, praising Aisha for her creativity and commitment to education.

“On behalf of the government and people of Borno State, I am donating ₦50 million for this book launch. May Almighty Allah bless the celebrant for the good work she has done,” he concluded.
