Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has dissolved his cabinet, retaining only his Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers.

Bago announced the decision during a valedictory State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Minna on Monday, where he commended the commissioners for their service and contributions to the stateโ€™s development.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the governor described the move as part of a mid-term performance review under the New Niger Agenda.

โ€œThe decision became necessary because some members had exceeded the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of the administration while a few others did not,โ€ Bago said.

โ€œIt was also discovered that some have strength in other areas, and our administration needs to be rejigged to bring about the desired growth and development.โ€
