Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has dissolved his cabinet, retaining only his Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers.
Bago announced the decision during a valedictory State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Minna on Monday, where he commended the commissioners for their service and contributions to the stateโs development.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the governor described the move as part of a mid-term performance review under the New Niger Agenda.
โThe decision became necessary because some members had exceeded the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of the administration while a few others did not,โ Bago said.
โIt was also discovered that some have strength in other areas, and our administration needs to be rejigged to bring about the desired growth and development.โ

The governor noted that some former cabinet members may be reappointed or assigned to new roles in line with the stateโs developmental vision.
He expressed appreciation to all outgoing members, saying they had โcollectively done wellโ and wished them success in future endeavours.
